What silicone hair bands are for
A small silicone band holds the end of a braid or section in place without a knot. They are used above all in fibre braiding and small braids, where the ends need to stay neat. Unlike a fabric-covered elastic, a silicone band does not grip the hair, so it comes off without tearing.
