The Right Products Make a Difference

The longevity of hair extensions is significantly affected by what products you use. Wrong products can dry out, damage, or weaken extensions – the right ones can extend their lifespan significantly.

Shampoo

Always choose sulfate-free shampoo. Sulfates strip natural oils from hair and dry out extensions especially quickly. Look for products labeled “sulfate-free” or “SLS-free”.

Conditioner

Moisturizing conditioner is an extension’s best friend. Apply from mid-lengths to ends – never directly on attachment points. Leave on for 2–3 minutes before rinsing.

Heat Protection

If you use flat irons, curling irons, or blow dryers, heat protection spray is essential. It protects extensions from damage and keeps them shiny.

Hair Oil

A light hair oil (argan, jojoba, or coconut oil) nourishes extensions and prevents tangling. Apply a small amount to the ends – not to roots or attachment points.

Brush

Invest in a quality extension brush. A regular plastic brush can damage attachment points. An extension brush is designed to glide gently past bonds and tape.
