What this fibre is used for
Kanekalon fibre is braided into your own hair: small braids, box braids, twists and colour streaks. It is lighter than human hair, so braids hold their shape without putting too much load on the scalp. It is also used to add length and volume when braiding.
Guides: fiber braids. Ready-made braids are in the Braids section.
Heat resistance
Some of the kanekalon fibres we carry are heat resistant and some are not. Check this product's own details before using hot water or a styling iron – the wrong treatment damages the fibre permanently.
How much fibre you need
The amount depends on braid size and the length you want: smaller braids and greater length use more fibre. Quantities per method are covered in the fiber braids guide. If you are unsure, ask us – it is better to order slightly too much than to run out mid-way.
Care
Wash braids in lukewarm water with a mild shampoo, squeeze the water out without rubbing and let them dry undisturbed. Avoid oil-based products at the attachment points. Kanekalon does not take dye, so the shade is chosen as it comes – see every shade on the color chart.
